Whitetail Deer Hunting

Northwest Ontario has become one of the best trophy Whitetail hotspots in North America. Our clients in the past 10 consecutive years have had great success. With the population of deer on the rise there is no better time to book your trip than now.

We hunt the adjacent wilderness areas from our Labyrinth Bay Outpost Camp. No roads here, all transportation is first by boat then by foot.

We have loads of whitetail hunting areas adjacent to vast tracts of wilderness with no roads and deer that have never seen man before. The wolves make sure the deer stay keen in this area and only the biggest and smartest of the whitetails survive.

Most big bucks harvested here are over 200 pounds and some real big ones will go over 300 pounds. Huge deer. A lot of our hunters get real good chances at 150-170+B.C. bucks and everyone hunting here should feel confident they are hunting an area that could very well hold the next Ontario Record.

It is our intent for all our guests to have a great trip, a warm and comfortable stay and a great Canadian adventure.

"Come as guests and leave as friends."

Guided Hunts

Welcome to our whitetail paradise hunting camp and area. All our guided hunts are in proven big buck areas and everyone hunting here should know and hunt like the next knoll holds the buck of their dreams. The people here all want you to succeed and every effort is taken so you can. By boat it is 23 miles to our island location right in the heart of deer country. We have three guest cottages with the biggest being our main lodge. They are very comfortable cottages, clean and have good beds so you can have a great sleep. The cottages are all fully outfitted for your convenience. A hot shower and sauna after a hard days' hunt tops it all off. Listen to the eagles, timber wolves, loons, and watch the northern lights right from the deck. You will soon tell this camp was built here for the adjacent wildlife and fishery.

In any direction from Labyrinth Bay Outpost we can have you in a quality whitetail hunting spot within minutes. To the hunter that means no big boat rides before hunting or crowded hunting spots when you get here. Pure hunting, the way it is supposed to be. Most often the hunter can radio in to guide or camp when needed. You are not left out there alone to be picked up at the end of the day "unless you want to be."

This is a proven whitetail adventure in an awesome area and has produced lots of trophy bucks for our clients the last fifteen years. Experience at hunting fair chase animals is what we are all about. We employ every legal means including baited stands to help our guest take a trophy deer. Ultimately it is the guests hunting wit against the Wiley whitetail buck, a formidable creature especially a trophy. Some of the largest deer taken in the country are taken here but they are keen and you as a hunter have to do your part. Everybody shoots at our target range of 70 yards and has to hit paper free hand shooting before we take you hunting. Come prepared. We will help you if needed but practicing beforehand is critical to your success.

These hunts are for "Real Outdoors People" looking to hunt trophy deer in a fabulous wilderness forested area, without roads and hunters on each hill. If you fall into that category of hunter or even if you are a novice willing to learn the techniques that work, then you need to contact Don right away.

The weather conditions, hunter preference and experience decide your daily hunt. The guides ferry you around to the best spots for the day and will help you set up in a productive area. Sometimes early in the season, the guides take the hunters out to drive the islands or for short search and seek methods of hunting during the times the deer are not moving. Here is where past experiences and having someone that knows the lay of the surrounding area can pay big dividends. Being in the right spot at the right time is made easier. Our past experiences have shown us that the still hunters take a higher percentage of big deer. Movement should always be kept to a minimum in prime areas.

The guides will help as much as possible with your hunt "without hurting your chances". If you feel you require just a little more help, Ask. Everyone here is always happy to help you out in any way they can. Go ahead and make their day by getting a trophy buck!

Depending on when you reserve your hunt you may have timber wolf, migratory birds, grouse and fishing seasons open. These you can do with the appropriate licenses. Usually what happens with timber wolves, is you see them while hunting deer. Grouse can be hunted on the many islands in the area away from our prime whitetail areas and ducks and geese in the adjacent marshes. Fishing is excellent throughout our area and a couple hours fishing usually results in a fishmeal. Remember though these other species are secondary to the whitetail hunt but they are available to you at no additional charge if you are licensed and ready.

Don has been guiding hunters in this area for over 30 years. He is there on every trip and tries his best at giving his guests the best hunting he can. Let his experience go to work for you.
